MELANCHOLIC WANDERINGS, VOL. XI: IT MUST BE THE WEATHER EDITION

The darkness of winter is in full swing, and some days you just want to pull the blinds, lay in bed, and throw on daytime television. This jam complements those feelings quite well, in my opinion. This one comes courtesy of NYC duo Holy Ghost!, whose sophomore LP Dynamics came out last September on DFA. It's more hit and miss compared to their first LP, but there's about six or seven solid tracks here. They're ideal for brooding in the big city, ya feel me??

HOLY GHOST, "DYNAMICS"

Holy Ghost! just released their sophomore LP, Dynamics, on DFA, and it's a fantastic follow-up to to their self-titled debut. The above track, "Teenagers in Heat," is a non-album cut produced by James Murphy. I really dig their "emotional music for emotional people" vibe, and I think some of you jammerz out there will too. Below is album opener "Okay."

The debut full-length from London's Factory Floor is fiiiiiinally here! Listen to a stream over at NPR and remember to wear protective gear for yr ears, cause this sh¡t BANGS.

HOLY GHOST, "DUMB DISCO IDEAS"

New single from NYC's Holy Ghost! off their soon to be released new album. Really psyched for this one, if you know what I mean ;)

YACHT, "SECOND SUMMER (BEN AQUA 3D WINTER MIX)"

It's been a minute since we've heard anything from Ben Aqua, aka MVSCLZ, aka ASSACRE. Here's a new remix for a track from DFA's Yacht. It's got the trademark Aqua fruitiness. Enjoy!!

Free Energy

Here's Philly-based power-pop group Free Energy, whose debut album Stuck on Nothing came out way back in 2k10 on DFA records. Makes me think of summertime.
