VARIOUS ARTISTS, "OCEANIC TRIANGULATION"

So I just got this 2xcassette a couple weeks ago and I can't get over how chill these jams are. Comprised of four tunes from contemporary new age/ambient/chill-out gurus Panabrite, Former Selves, Hakobune, and Oliwa, Oceanic Triangulation is so so good. This is also my first experience with Oakland based label Inner Islands, who seem to be cultivating and curating very mellow, relaxing tapes. Brew up some green tea, get the bubble bath going, and zone out to the spacey, trippy vibe contained within these choice tapes :)

THREE NEW ANDY PETR TRACKS

It's been a while since we've heard from Brooklyn producer (and SJFM contributor) Andy Petr. These three tracks, "Early Peace," "Little One," and "Goodbye Earth," dive deep into the ambient territory hinted at on his previous Mixpak EPs. Whether you're hearing his work for the first time or are familiar with his catalog there is plenty to enjoy here. Stream the new stuff below, jammerz. You'll be glad you did :)

WILLIAM CLAY MARTIN, "SADLER" CS

William Clay Martin makes very mellow, synth-based ambient music that is perfect for that Saturday morning coffee sesh. This tape came out back in November and it has been spinning regularly here at Sexwolf HQ. You can cop the tape for $5 or get the digital for free over at Bandcamp. Enjoy :)

ZODIAC FREE ARTS CLUB

Alright jammerz, I'm not gonna lie, this record came out back in 2k11 but I kinda forgot about it for a while. Recently I started listening to it again and am in love with this LP. Zodiac Free Arts Club's Floating World is a collaborative project spearheaded by Greek producer Argy, whose typical musical output is more house and tech house leaning. Here we get a lot of kosmische, krautrock vibes floating around, from Neu-inspired motorik to Schulze-esque ambient wanderings. As RA writes, "The project takes its name from the Zodiak Free Arts Lab, a short-lived club in West Berlin that was a launching pad for the kosmische movement." Dig on a couple of tracks here and mellow out to some seriously groovy tunez :) :)

STUDENTS OF DECAY

Students of Decay is a record label that specializes in tunes that walk that fine line between ambient, noise, and drone. I've gotten the chance to cover some of their recent releases for Decoder and have been very impressed with their output thus far. 2013 has seen releases from Turkey's Ekin Fil, Madison's Aquarelle, and Northern Cali's John Davis, all of which are really great for zoning out at the office or when you're confronting your nightmares at club home.

Below you can stream a few tracks from each of the three artists I mentioned above. Hope you dig.

PANABRITE, "VIBE VOID" and "EVENING COLOR"

New jamz from Seattle's Panabrite. Very soothing and mellow accompaniment for your Saturday tea party, if you know what I mean :) :)

SEEFEEL, "QUIQUE"

Seefeel are a British electronic/shoegaze/dub act who have released a few records on Too Pure, Warp, and Rephlex. Their debut album Quique is being reissued by Seattle's Medical Records. As the write-up suggests, the group connects "the dots between Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine and Aphex Twin." Enjoy the three tracks below and cop the LP if you're vibin it, which I think you will ;)

Shisa - Finer Red

I've really been digging this record lately.  Check out more HERE.
